This classic cocktail is made by simply sweeteneing bitters and then pouring in bourbon whiskey. The most common garnishe is a single slice of orange twist and it mostly served in an old fashioned glass. It is a simple and timeless drink that is perfect for sipping on a relaxing evening or toasting to a special occasion.

The Old Fashioned is traditionally made with bourbon or rye whiskey, sugar, bitters, and a citrus twist. The ingredients are muddled together with ice and then strained into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. The drink is typically garnished with a slice of orange and a cherry.

The history of the Old Fashioned dates back to the late 19th century, when bartenders began serving whiskey cocktails that were sweetened with sugar and flavored with bitters. Over time, the recipe evolved to include citrus and other ingredients, but the basic components remained the same.

Today, the Old Fashioned remains a favorite among cocktail enthusiasts who appreciate its simplicity and versatility. While the drink is traditionally made with bourbon or rye whiskey, there are many variations that use different types of spirits, such as tequila or brandy.

One of the things that sets the Old Fashioned apart from other cocktails is its method of preparation. The drink is traditionally made by muddling the sugar and bitters with a splash of water before adding the whiskey and ice. This technique helps to release the flavors of the ingredients and create a smooth and well-balanced cocktail.

If you're looking to make an Old Fashioned at home, it's important to use high-quality whiskey and fresh citrus. You can also experiment with different types of bitters or sweeteners to create a variation that suits your taste.
